Yes we have lost it. In America all of these flying termites in your home would seem like the 11th Egyptian Plague. Here they are a sign that the rains are here to stay. They are everywhere. My neighbors are gathering and feasting. They taste somewhat like roasted peanuts (not chicken as commonly believed by Non-Termite eaters). I like them over rice. Our dogs gorge themselves on this high fat and protein diet. Rainy season has truly begun.
Pray for Rwanda’s spirits. Some have a hard time believing the rains could come early and be plentiful. I think it reflects a spiritual condition that has many times lost hope. Pray for the courage to hope again.
Pray also that these rains will be long and plentiful. Rwanda’s lakes and rivers are at a 5-year low. One of the reasons our water and electricity have been erratic the last few months is the low water level.
Thanks for indulging both my twisted humor and earthy spirituality.

Hi guys,
I enjoy your email updates for the entertainment value and more importantly to keep up with you. I'm sure there are many others like me who are keeping you in our hearts and prayers even when we don't write as often as we should. I miss seeing your smiling faces around here.
Love ya,

I was reading your blog and am very interested. I just return from a 4 month mission to Rwanda. I lived in Kigali (Kimirongko) with a wonderful Rwandesse family. I hope all is going well for you.
Blessings, Erin
p.s. I kept a blog of my experiences in Rwanda

Perhaps an abundance of tasty termites will mean an end to the drought! I realize that it is standard missiology to try to adapt to your context, but I have to say that you are my hero for eating those termites. I would love to come see you guys before too long. Please let me know when termite season is over. Tell your kids that we miss them. Of course, we miss you and Jana, too. Keep up the good work and Bon Appetit!
Blessings,
Mark Henderson
