Christ Church Rwanda

For the next 2 Sundays I will be out of town at the Kumbya Missionary Retreat near Cyangugu. During my absence I believe you will be especially blessed by two Guest Speakers.
The first will be Jim Beck on Sunday, 29 July. Jim is Caleb Beck's father and brings a wealth of knowledge and a sensitive heart. He served for over 10 years as a missionary in Malindi, Kenya. After his return to the United States in the early 1990's he has served as Lecturer in Bible and Missions at Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas. During this time he was a catalyst in launching Carpenter's Church that serves the inner city of Lubbock, Texas.
The second will be Dr. Mark Henderson on Sunday, 4 August. Many of you may remember Mark when he was with us for our Grand Church Opening on Sunday, 4 March. Mark serves as the Senior Pastor at my sponsoring church, the Quail Springs Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As Mark and his wife, Sharon were with us in March they visited the Home of Hope Orphanage below St. Familie church. As they were doing this and saw all of the orphans without homes, Mark prayed, "Lord, this is unacceptable." In his spirit he heard the Lord say, "I agree, what will you do about it?" He came to see that the Lord was calling him to be the answer to his own prayer. Thus Mark, his wife Sharon, and daughters, Carly and Laney are now in Rwanda completing their adoption of their two Rwandan boys, Zach and Nate.
Mark has a Doctorate of Ministry from Abilene Christian University and is a frequently sought out speaker in the United States.
I trust you will be well pastored in my absence by Jim and Mark.
Imana ikurinde,
Dave
